Freddie Lyon, whose wikipedia entry I am not linking due to massive spoilers AND I WANT EVERYONE TO WATCH THIS SHOW :E was a crusading television reporter who investigated governmental and police misconduct, murders, espionage, politics, and corruption while trying to protect people (usually lovely young ladies, usually the reason he got dragged into things) and his job and his show from censors. He is committed to ferreting out the truth and bringing it to light at any cost, he's quite persuasive at getting people to talk to him, and he's not above subverting rules and boundaries to get at the truth 2. The Imp Prince, from French folklore. I am playing a little loose with the details--Gentille gave him the gift of being an outstanding orator as well as conferring impdom upon him, and I am cutting back a few of his magical powers (he can teleport but all the passing through water or the ground, not so much).

Character's Voidville name: Freddie Lyon Voidville background: He's charming enough in a "God, I often want to punch him in the face" kind of way, occasionally lacking in social graces or a filter between his brain and his mouth. But he's a loyal and protective friend (especially if you're an attractive lady, though it's not in any kind of prurient way, that's just how he rolls, it's like some misplaced attempt at being gentlemanly), thoughtful in the most roundabout of ways. He's 28, in the middle of a messy and hasty divorce at the end of an even more messy and hasty short marriage, and he's the features reporter at..whatever the major media is on the island (newspaper? tv? I'll roll with whatever works for the technology level)
